The 2012 fall semester is off to a great start! Our first meeting took place on Wednesday September 5 and we had an awesome turnout! We shared with everyone what PRSSA is all about and our goals as a chapter. One of the big things that are chapter is trying to accomplish is to become a star chapter, which means we have added a philanthropy type event and have added a meeting dedicated to ethics to our agenda. All the committees were introduced and a lot of people took interest in Special Events Ut Prosim PR, and blogging! It is really neat to see that people are excited about our chapter. We were able to introduce PRSSA National Conference and how it is coming up soon in October. We are excited to say that have four members of the E-board attending and opened up registration to our members as well. Along with our faculty adviser, Dr. Cannon, we had special guest Pritch Pritchard, the National Academic Advisory for PRSSA, attend our first meeting! He was very encouraging with all the things our chapter is doing and talked to our members about the benefits of PRSSA. Another cool thing is that our E-board members were able to participate in a leadership rally held in Roanoke by PRSA Blue Ridge last Friday. Here, the E-bord got to meet other PRSSA chapters from colleges, such as Liberty, Lynchburg College, Radford, and JMU, and talk about what their chapters are doing. VT PRSSA is off to a great start this semester and I can't wait to share how things are progressing.
